Døgnfluer kan blive stor musik!

Komponister bruger ofte mange dage, uger, måneder eller endda år på at skrive et enkelt stykke musik. Men at skrive et helt stykke på blot én eneste dag kan også være en nydelse i sig selv. Det er temaet for en koncert i Australien til næste forår, som det australske Musik Informations Center nu indkalder værker til.

Momentary Pleasures

I 2010 indgår den australske Aurora Festival som en del af ISCM World Music Days, og en del af programmet bliver en hel koncert med klaverstykker, som alle er komponeret på én dag.

Koncerten har undertitelen "Momentary Pleasures", som kan oversættes med "Nuets Nydelser". Det australske Musik Informations Center indkalder nu værker til programmet, som forventes at blive sammensat af bidrag fra hele verden.

Kriterier

1. Instrumentation: solo (ikke-forstærket) klaver. Ikke tilladt at spille inde i klaveret.
2. Varighed: max to noterede sider, max 4 minutter
3. Kompositionstidspunkt: Komponisten skal medsende en underskrevet erklæring om, at stykket er skrevet i løbet af én dag.
4. Nationalitet: Komponister fra hele verden er velkomne til at bidrage.
5. Alder: Der er ingen aldersbegrænsinger for at deltage.
6. Deltagergebry: Intet gebyr for værker i denne kategori.

Følgenede skal fremsendes:

1. Partitur i PDF-format
2. Eventuel optagelse (kan også være midi-optagelse konverteret til mp3)
3. Navn og nationalitet på komponist
4. Adresse
5. Email-adresse

Programnoter: max 100 ord på engelsk som beskriver, hvordan temaet "momentary pleasures" kommer til udtryk i kompositionen.

CALL FOR WORKS

Momentary Pleasures

Typically composers will spend many days, weeks, months and even years writing pieces of music. But to write an entire piece in one day can be also be a singularly pleasurable experience.

The 2010 Aurora Festival will be presenting a unique concert of new piano works, each of which will have been written by composers in a single day. We invite submissions from composers from around the world for this concert.

The theme of this concert is Momentary Pleasures. Composers should write a work with this theme in mind - however they wish to interpret this.

Criteria

1. Instrumentation: solo (unamplified) piano. Playing inside the piano to be avoided.
2. Duration: Maximum two notated pages, maximum 4 minutes in length.
3. Composition time: The composer must include a declaration stating that the submitted piece was written within a single day. Typesetting time may be additional to this single day.
4. Nationality: Composers may be from anywhere in the world.
5. Age restriction: There is no maximum or minimum age restriction.
6. Entry fee: There is no entry fee for this category.

The following should be submitted :

1. Score in PDF format
2. Recording (Optional. MIDI recordings acceptable. mp3 format only)
3. Name and nationality of the composer
4. Address
5. Email contact
6. Programme notes (max. 100 words, in English) detailing how the theme of 'momentary pleasures' was used in the submitted composition.
7. A written declaration from the composer in the body of the email stating that this composition was written in a single day.
